Rising sea temperatures and ocean acidification threaten the rich coral reefs and fisheries of the Maluku archipelago. Sali Ujung Kulon is working with local coastal communities to establish Locally Managed Marine Areas (LMMAs), combining traditional zoning with scientific monitoring.
